Kathy Brumbaugh

Kathy Brumbaugh received a BS in Art Education at Northern State College. That was followed with eight years of teaching senior and junior high art respectively in Sisseton and Pierre, South Dakota. Painting with watercolor and acrylic, and using mixed media to make cards is part of her retirement days. She also does calligraphy and enjoys drawing with pencil and colored pencils as well as markers. Kathy recently retired from Avera St. Luke's. In 2010 she received the Arts Advocate Award from the Aberdeen Area Arts Council. She considers it a great honor and says that without artists in our world it would definitely be a "beige" place to live. Aberdeen is very fortunate to have a healthy fine arts program to make life here a wonderfully full community experience for anyone wishing to partake.

Kathy and her husband, Mike have lived in Aberdeen for more than thirty years.
