I graduated from SDSU with a BA in Art and Printing. I have worked as a graphic designer for SDSU, a newspaper, and a design firm in Colorado. After moving to Aberdeen I began working for a civil engineering firm. It is amazing how artistic skills can be applied universally to other occupations. Currently I work at Steel Structures of Aberdeen where I am involved in all aspects of the design/build process.
I was a member of the Arts Council Board of Directors for 6 years in the early 90's and served as president for two of those years. My personal mission was and still is art awareness and acknowledgement of how important the fine arts are in our daily lives. I received the Friends of the Arts Award for my early work on the board and support of the arts.
I have two children, Leigh who is in graduate school and Eric who is in college. They are both artistic in the own right as is my husband Randy. My children have been an inspiration to continue to support arts in education. In the summer I bike, travel and do photography but in the winter my passion is pottery. I share the fun of working with clay by teaching adult classes at the ARCC.
