Since its founding in 1983 by Michael Levine, the Dallas Brass has become one of America’s foremost musical ensembles. The Dallas Brass repertoire includes classical masterpieces, Dixieland, swing, Broadway, Hollywood and patriotic music.
According to Mr. Levine, “a Dallas Brass concert is intended for the entire family. Our ideal audience has a range in ages from 5 to 95. Our goal is to entertain and enrich by playing great music, while showing our audience how much we enjoy what we do.”
The Aberdeen Central High School Band will perform with the Dallas Brass during the public concert. The Dallas Brass will rehearse with and conduct master classes with the students in the morning. In the afternoon, the Dallas Brass will perform a school concert for elementary students.
This presentation is supported by the Arts Midwest Topuring Fund, a program of Arts Midwest that is funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, with additional contributions from the South Dakota State Arts council and the Crane Group.
