I have served on the board of the Aberdeen Area Arts Council for 6 years now. I have spent time as President, and just recently finished my term as Past President.
I am married to my beautiful wife, Nikala. I have two step children Dylan and Kenadee along with my first child, Carter.
I work at Production Monkeys, there I often do videography and photography. I help out with graphic design from time to time as well. I operate my own photography business, Josh Phillips Photography. I specialize in senior photography and more specifically seniors in sports. When I’m not working or taking photos I enjoy being outdoors in the summer and playing softball. When it’s cold, my favorite sport to play is volleyball (indoors, of course).
I joined the AAAC because of my love for art. Performing arts and visual arts have always been a strong part of my life. Growing up I was active in show choir at Central High School, here in Aberdeen. As a child and young adult, I often attended plays and musicals, whether they were at the school or at the Capitol Theatre. I also used to practice drawing all the time, that skill has sadly been lost due to technology and the use of computers.
I have enjoyed my time on the board of the Aberdeen Area Arts Council, and I plan to do my part to keep the arts alive and well in Aberdeen, whatever that may take.
Josh has been a vital part of helping to keep the Arts Alive in our community. Whether it’s being present for board meetings, helping setup for stage performances or arranging flowers for dance performers, and so much more! We’re glad we have Josh on board!
