Saturday April 27th we had the privilege of spending the morning with these NSU athletes, the lovely ladies of the Aberdeen Downtown association, Erica from Natural Abundance and a few little community artist friends for the annual NSU Day of Champions.
The NSU Day of Champions started in 2002 as a collaborative effort between the Northern State University Athletic Department and the United Way of Northeastern SD. The Day of Champions provides the opportunity for NSU student-athletes to give back to the region through a day of volunteering.
This was the first ever Art With The Wolves event, and we were delighted to be a part of it. Big shout out to the Red Rooster Coffee house for hosting us when the rain derailed our original plan to set up in the Malchow Plaza. The room was filled with local families, great little artists, and future leaders in our community!
Thank you to all who attended, we hope you and your littles had a perfectly cheery morning 🙂
Big thank you again to all the organizations that made this possible:
- United Way of NE Sd
- NSU student athletes
- Natural Abundance – diy fruit pizza station
- Ken’s – for donating donuts
- Red Rooster Coffee House
- Aberdeen Downtown Association
- and of course us 🙂 Aberdeen Area Arts Council
